Just a little about me: I have a 17-year old son who inspires me daily to be a better person. I share his passions for music and hockey and have a few of my own, such as this workshop. I am a corporate event manager by trade having spent significant time with Symantec, WebTrends, and Columbia Sportswear. Currently, I work as an event manager at OCHIN, a non-profit working to improve health equity by offering technology and professional services to community health centers.
The workshop content was developed out of my desire to help young adults feel empowered with life skills to navigate wherever their journey takes them. I wanted to amplify the academic and social skills they develop in high school with practical knowledge to support their independence.
The workshop name comes from my love of bald eagles – their independence, strength, grace, loyalty, and awareness – traits that I see our young adults display daily.
